P.L.A.Y. was established in March 2007 with an idea to bring the people of our community together. Our goal is to focus on the people, their cultures, music, traditions and dance.

June 2007 Stockton Art Walk
- We began our first demonstration with five Cultural Performing groups. Hiva Nui, Ballet Folklorico Autlense, Stockton Community Pow Wow, APSARA and Los Danzantes Del Puerto. Our demonstration captured the attention of the spectators, the Stockton Art Director (Deena Heath) and the Stockton Record. Our group was featured in the Record on the following week. 

July 2007 All American Community Celebration
- Our Cultural Dancers did a great job since there were more than 2,000 spectators present. Two new Cultural groups joined P.L.A.Y. during this event. They were Mariachi Chavez from Cesar Chavez High School and the dancers of the India Association of San Joaquin.

August 2007 Stockton Art Walk
– P.L.A.Y. returned to the Art Walk for our third demonstration. It was exciting to see the positive responses from our community at this event.

September 2007 Van Buskirk Community Center Grand Opening
– P.L.A.Y. was invited by the Parks and Recreation Department to highlight this event. P.L.A.Y. featured Platinum Plus Dance Studio as our newest addition and they closed the event with traditional African Dance and some of the best Hip Hop that Stockton has to offer.

October 2007 30th Annual Arts Award
– The Stockton Arts Commission invited P.L.A.Y. to perform during the reception. Our Cambodian and Ballet Folklorico groups graced the theater with their elegant cultural attire. Dean Gorby received an Outstanding Achievement in Arts Education Award for his leadership in arts curriculum development. 

January 21st 2008 11th Annual Snow Storm
- PLAY Multicultural Group to Highlight Stockton’s Diversity at This Year’s Snow Storm.

Stockton's 7th Annual Winter Benefit Powwow in Association with P.L.A.Y.

April 26th and 27th 2008
Stockton Asparagus Festival, Di Carli Stage -  Mariachi Cali, Platinum Plus , Arabian Jewels and Trama opened the event with diversity and dynamic performances. Los Danzantes Studio's featured DI Dolly (hip hop), Ritmos Latinos (Flamenco and Mambo) and traditional Ballet Folklorico dances.

May 17th and 18th 2008
Dia de los Nino's - Through a Grant from the Target Corporation, the Stockton Public Library will sponsor events on Saturday in Manteca and Tracy and Sunday at the Martin Luther King Jr. park located in front of the Cesar Chavez Library on Oak Street in Stockton.


June 7th 2008 American Cancer Society, Relay for Life
- P.L.A.Y. will contribute to this worth wild event with performances throughout the day.

June 19th 2008 Y.E.S.S. 2 P.L.A.Y. MC Festival Meeting
- The Grant application for our Multi-Cultural Festival has been accepted. The collaboration teams of S.U.S.D. Visual and Performing Arts Department and P.L.A.Y. Multicultural Arts Organization will begin to create the foundation for this festival at this meeting. Our festival is a community event and we welcome your participation.
We will meet on the Campus of UOP in the Multi-cultural Center located on the McCaffrey Center ground level. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. and end at 8 p.m.. Parking is free after 5 p.m. and we recommend parking along side Grace Covell Hall or Hand Hall (Chapel Lane & Atchley Way) then walk to the Multi-cultural Center.

July 17th 2008 Y.E.S.S. 2 P.L.A.Y. MC Festival Meeting -
We will continue our monthly planning meetings for the Multicultural Arts Festival starting at 6 p.m. at the SUSD Professional Development Center located at 1503 St. Mark's Plaza, Suite A-1, Stockton, CA 95207. The public is welcomed as this is a community project.

October 4th 6 p.m. - Spirt of the Dance
Warren Atherton Auditorium San Joaquin Delta College Center for the Arts. Spirit of the Dance combines music, dance, and spoken words in a dramatic and extravagant one night production that proudly exhibits the rich cultural variety and traditions of our community. This production results for a collaboration of P.L.A.Y. and the Cultural Awarness Program at San Joaquin Delta College.


October 25th 2 - 4 p.m. "Spirit of the Dance" Art Exhibition
In conjunction with
The Haggin Museum is proud to once again feature Stockton artists Richard Rios (this year's Stockton STAR Award winner) and Rodolfo Garcia in an afternoon of bilingual music and poetry.
